From Ibrahim to Qusai
The grandfathers of the Prophet (the Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon Him) were among the Arabs who descended from Ismail (the Peace be upon him). They were monotheist Muslims following the true religion of Ibrahim. In his book “Al-Milal wal Nihal “, Al-Shahrestani narrated: “The religion of Ibrahim and monotheism were known and spread among the Arabs prior to any other religion. Amr bin Luha Al-Khuza'e was the first to adopt the worshiping of idols. It had been proven that the grandfathers of the Prophet (the Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon Him), from the time of Ibrahim to the time of Amr, had all been believers. Ibn Habib narrated Ibn Abbas saying: “Adnan, Mu'ad, Mudar, Khuzaima, and Asad were followers of the religion of Ibrahim. You should never talk about them except in good”.
- Al-Tabari and others narrated the following story of Mu'ad: “Allah had revealed to Armia to go to Bokhtnasr and inform him that Allah had given him free hand to empower the Arabs. Allah ordered Armia to go together with Mu'ad bin Adnan bin Ali Al-Baraq to prevent him from the indignation. Allah informed him that He will generate, from Mu'ad's offspring, a generous Prophet to seal by him the Messengers. Armia did that and went with Mu'ad to the land of Sham . Mu'ad grew up with Bani Israel and returned back after when the disturbances ended.
- Regarding Rabe'a, Ibn Haban narrated Abu Baker Al-Seddeeq, citing the Massenger of Allah (the Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon Him): “Do not curse Rabe'a and Mudar as both were Muslims”.
- Mudar, who was also named Amr bin Nizar, was known by his vast vision, carriage, and sayings that were considered among the proverbs of the Arabs. Among these, for example: “Those who plant evil will harvest evil”, and: “Enforce yourselves to bear adversity if that corrects you, and do not act according to your own way if that corrupts you”.
Concerning Elias, who was also known as Abu Amr, Al-Suhaili cited the Prophet (the Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon Him): “Do not curse Elias, as he was a believer”. It was narrated that Elias heard, in his backbone, the Prophet's (the Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon Him) compliances of pilgrimage.
